Baseball Tip – TheGame of 500
Here is a game I used to play a lotin my younger days. (We are talking a long time ago) And I know it is stillpopular because my kids have played 500 and I wasn’t the one who taught them.
It is a great drill for baseballpractice if only about half your team shows up. If you have 12 or 14 players atpractice, it could be too many to play this game. You be the judge.
This game is really batting andfielding practice, only as a game. You, the coach, pitch batting practice toone player, and the rest of the team covers the field.
The fielders receivepoints for batted balls caught in the air and off the ground. They get 100points for a caught ball before it hits the ground, 50 points for catching aone hopper, and 25 points for a ground ball.
We always played the game where youwere deducted the same number of points if you dropped a fly ball, one hopperor ground ball.
And when one person gets to 500 points, they get to come in andhit. You can always change the number of points to bat if things are movingslow.
There will be times when you willhave to referee who gets to catch the baseball. You may have to call out theplayer’s name that gets the chance to catch the baseball.
Baseball Tip – TheGame of Flip
Flipis one of the fun baseball games that my youngest son loves to play. Hissummer team has played the game for about three years.
I believe they havemodified the rules to their liking.

So, hereis their version of the game 'Flip'.
Four to ten players can play thisgame. Again, all players stand in a circle a few feet apart. Playerswear their gloves and only one player starts with a baseball.
In this gameplayers do not catch the baseball; instead they volley or bounce the baseballin their glove.
Once a player volleys (bounces) thebaseball in his glove, he will toss the baseball from his glove to anotherplayer. The baseball must be tossed between the other players knees andshoulders.
That player can stop the baseball with his glove and start bouncingit until he is ready to toss, or he can play the baseball off of his body, andstart bouncing the ball in his glove.
Some people say you can only volley(bounce) the baseball twice before tossing.
On my son’s summer team they allowplayers to move towards the player they are tossing to, and that player canmove back.
But, if the tossing player drops the baseball in the receivingplayer’s spot, then that is counted as a miss and the receiving player is out.
Any dropped toss, or toss not at the receiving player’s body between the kneesand shoulders, and you are not. As always, last man standing wins.

2021 MLB Odds
The 2021 MLB season is underway with a full 162-game schedule. This MLB Vegas Odds page will be updated daily with money line betting odds on each game, including baseball odds from Las Vegas sportsbooks such as Westgate Superbook, Circa Sports, William Hill, and MGM. For those outside of Las Vegas, we've also included MLB betting lines from online sportsbooks such as FanDuel, DraftKings, and BetMGM.

How to read Baseball Las Vegas Money Line Odds
Choose one team or the other for the win!
If you’re betting Major League Baseball money line wagers, you will either be cheering for the favorite or the underdog to pick up the victory, as long as the game officially goes past the midway point (through the top of the fifth inning). A game must at least become official, per the rules of MLB, before a winner is determined. And when you are betting the money line, you will either select the favorite or the underdog to win outright, and you needn’t worry about margin of victory. Simple, right?
Similar to our Run-line and 1st Five Inning Odds, every game on the board shows with pitcher information, as well the Date and Time of the Major League Baseball games of the evening.
Baseball will list Favorites and Underdogs for that day’s games. The Money Line Odds will show the favorite listed with a (-), and the underdogs will be indicated by a (+) symbol. Most betting sites online, as well as all betting apps, will do the math for you. But it’s a rather simple equation based upon $100 wager.
N.Y. Yankees -125 (Bet $100 to win $80)
Tampa Bay +110 (Bet $100 to win $110)
In the above example, N.Y. Yankees is listed as the favorite (-), while Tampa Bay is considered the underdog. If someone making a wager selected the Yankees, favored to win, they would return only $80 on a $100 wager at minus-125. Some books will also offer fractional odds, and in this particular instance the Yankees would be a 4/5 favorite. The decimal format is sometimes listed, especially popular overseas, and the Yankees would be listed at 1.80 on the big board.
Since the Yankees are the favorite, the Rays are considered the underdog and bettors receive a larger return on their initial stake. In the example above, a $100 winning wager on the Rays would return a $210 total, which includes a $110 win and your original $100 stake. The fractional odds for this example would be 11/10, with the Yankees listed at 2.100 with the decimal conversion.
