Aegean Airlines new livery for Aerosoft Airbus A320 Professional. Use Aerosoft Livery to install. Works in P3Dv5 too. See more repaints and updated versions in www.texturasbrasileiras.blogspot.com or www.texturasbrasileiras.com. A detailed look inside the cockpit of an Airbus A320 by Aerosoft Simulations for FSX. This video looks around the entire flight deck to identify and explain.
The Airbus A320 Family was first introduces in 1988 as they began service with Air France. As of 31st December 2016, there are 7,421 that have been built. They are a narrow body, short-medium Range jet and the main competitor for the Boeing 737-800 (NGX). The A320 family are now being produced in the “neo” variant. These incorporate Winglets (Sharklets) into the Airbus, reducing fuel costs and improving effiency.
Now, we purchased the Aerosoft Airbus from justflight.net, for a total of £42.99. We then were presented with two serial numbers and two installers, one for the A318/A319 and the other one for the A320/A321. When we downloaded them (it took us about 15 minutes each), we were pleasantly surprised by the ease of the install. All we had to do was to paste in the serial number and pick the file directory. We were actually pleasantly surprised by the ease of installation for the 4 different variations.
I do have to say, that the Aerosoft Airbus does have wonderful exterior modelling, when closely zoomed in, there is the “jagged lines from hell” in some parts, eg. The Engines aren’t completely round from behind. However, I’m sure we can forgive Aerosoft for this “minor blemish” to there absolutely fabulous product. The Default Liveries you get when you first install the “Bus” are absolutely fantastic! They are done by the wonderful Hogli from SimTextures.de , these liveries (and to be fair, a lot of the liveries available) are absolutely fantastic definition!
On a whole, I found the Airbus to be responsive and I found my self moving it with ease. However, I did find the Steering Tiller a pain to set up with my joystick. But, I think we can forgive Aerosoft for this tiny inconvenience. When you are in the air, I found that the plane responded very well to my commands and (unlike some other Addons) it wasn’t to sensitive on the controls and didn’t need constant adjustment. In my opinion, I found it was a very accurate simulation and representation of the very unique and iconic Airbus “Fly-By-Wire” system. Now, onto how the plane responds when on Autopilot. I am very aware of how the plane should respond when it’s on the Autopilot. In which I mean following the Navigation Display and adjust course in winds etc, and I think it does that very well, also, when you reach your top of descent and start to descend, the plane controls the speed VERY well. All of the flight control systems on this Bus are very well simulated! Well Done Aerosoft!
Now, quite often, the aircraft that look fabulous on the outside, lack detail on the inside. However, in the Bus, Aerosoft have obviously put lots of care and attention into the whole aircraft, but you can defiantly see the work put into both the modelling and the systems of the A320.
All the buttons are very well textured and the clickspots are all relevant and easy to get to when sat in the Captain’s seat. The MCDUs are both very well done, especially the features (in which we will go into more detail later on). The Primary Flight Display and Navigation Display are both crisp, concise and easy to read. I know this is one thing that a lot of Simmers look for in a High Quality Addon (like this one), is the (I suppose you can call it this) the “Clickyness” of the buttons, and I can defiantly tell you, they are very satisfying to click! They have absolutely brilliant sounds when clicked.
Now, the business end of the plane, and I do have to say,the MCDU has worked absolutely flawlessly for me. I do quite like Aerosoft’s idea of the different MCDUs having different functions. For example, the 1st MDCU (on the Captain’s side) is the default MCDU, which does the normal route planning, but the 2nd MCDU has custom features, Like Aircraft State,Aircraft Doors,Ground Equipment and Integrated Checklists. But best of all, is the connected flight deck! This is a really innovative feature, yet it does feature some bugs, but a more detailed review of the Connected Flight Deck will soon come!
